Optimize cellular function to assist in recovery and relieve pain

PEMF Therapy | Salt Lake City

What is PEMF Therapy?

PEMF stands for pulsed electromagnetic field. The cells of your body act as batteries that use energy and need to be recharged at the end of each day. PEMF does this using magnetic energy sending low-level electromagnetic fields and pulsing them. As humans, we have an electromagnetic field. PEMF works with that field to elevate electrolytes and ions influencing electrical function on a cellular level. This enables an ion exchange whereby toxins can exit the cell rebalancing the trans-membrane potential of the cells. All you need to remember is PEMF recharges and repairs your cells.

PEMF has a calming effect on the nervous system thereby reducing stress both physically and mentally.

It’s important to note that there are “good” EMFs such as PEMF and the natural magnetic field the Earth has and “bad” EMFs such as those created by electronics such as cell phones. PEMF therapy can reverse damage caused by bad EMFs.

At our clinic, we use a FDA approved PEMF mat. All that is required to receive the therapy is to lay comfortably on the mat. The service can be booked alone or as an add-on to our Integrative Therapeutic Massage sessions.

Benefits of Far Infrared Heat

Our PEMF device also utilized far infrared therapy. Far infrared heat penetrates deeper into the tissues of the body. Regular heating pads only heat the skin. The PEMF mat generates far infrared heat by warming the gemstones housed within the mat (jade, amethyst & tourmaline).

Benefits of Negative Ions

Negative ions are also produced with the heating of the jade, amethyst, and tourmaline crystals housed in the mat. Positive ions, or “free radicals”, are missing one electron and need to add one in order to become stabilized. In the body, free radicals will work to stabilize themselves by stealing an ion from a neighboring molecule and will continue this in a cascade-type reaction that damage cells. Damaged cells are precursors to disease and premature aging.

Free radicals can be neutralized by negative ions in a preventative manner and to repair existing damage in the body. Where can you get more of these much-needed negative ions? Forests, plants, minerals, and PEMF devices! In just 20 minutes, the PEMF mat can expose your body to hundreds of thousands of negative ions fighting free radicals and oxidative stress.

PEMF for Pain Relief

PEMF therapy has been scientifically proven to reduce inflammation and pain related to chronic issues and recent injuries alike. Reducing nervous system activity assists in alleviating muscle tension and pain.

Overall, far infrared heat is a highly beneficial therapy as it has been proven to have the following benefits: temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain and stiffness, relief of joint pain associated with arthritis, muscle sprain, minor strains and sprains, muscular relaxation, and the temporary increase of local circulation where applied.

PEMF for Athletic Recovery

Since PEMF therapy repairs damaged cells, healing and restoration is accelerated. Additionally, the far infrared heat stimulates blood flow, carrying oxygenated and nutrient-rich blood to the tissues which is essential in optimizing recovery time.

Additional Benefits of PEMF therapy:

  • Improves circulation
  • Improves sleep quality
  • Increased mental clarity and mental focus
  • Reduces Inflammation
  • Reduces muscle pain
  • Relaxes the nervous system
  • Increased healing time with muscle strains, bone breaks, ligament damage, and in other soft tissue structures
  • Reduces toxic load in cells and improves immune function
