BRIANNA CLARK
LMT/CES/ACMHC
Since 2008, Brianna has worked as a licensed clinical massage therapist in Salt Lake City, Utah. She approaches massage therapy through the lens of pain prevention/management and holistic considerations to orthopedic conditions. In the early years of her career, she quickly learned that massage therapy alone wasn't enough to address the root cause of pain and postural dysfunction. She soon developed an interest in studying the biomechanics of healthy movement patterns (functional movement), postural improvement, and injury prevention strategies. She strives to offer a comprehensive approach to pain relief that starts in the office and extends into her clients' daily lives.
In tandem with the pursuit of her professional passion, Brianna has been down a long road of recovery with her own chronic pain journey. She sustained a significant neck injury and for many years had experienced incomprehensible pain that many types of medical professionals failed to properly diagnose. Ultimately, she finally discovered the correct explanation for the myriad of orthopedic and neurological symptoms—a condition called Craniocervical Instability (CCI). Because of her unique experience with this condition, she works to raise awareness of this widely under/misdiagnosed injury and advocates for those with corresponding symptoms to get the right type of screening and treatment.
Brianna is an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor focusing on somatic embodiment, DBT, CBT, and nervous system regulation. With this approach, the mind and the physical body restore their connection which can be disrupted with the experience of trauma, physical/emotional pain, and stress. She is currently accepting new counseling clients at Hopeful Alliance located in South Jordan. More details about how to book a counseling session can be found here.
Education: Massage therapy degree from Myotherapy College of Utah, Orthopedic Massage Certification from The Academy of Clinical Massage, BS in Health Promotion and Education from the U of U, NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist, MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from SNHU (ACMHC).
